Around 130 Ford Transit vans of all ages, sizes, models and colours; participated in the cruise. These included panel vans, chassis-cabs and specialised conversions. The vehicles were assembled into three 'lanes', on the test-track at Dunton, before heading off in convoy, to the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge (Dartford Bridge). The bridge had been closed to all vehicles, except for the participants of the Transit Rally. All three lanes of Transits lined up side by side, and set off in unison, steadily South across the bridge. The drive over the bridge was recorded from a helicopter and also a specially adapted Ford Transit camera van, with a camera at front and rear. From the bridge, all of the Transits made their way to Southampton, where a family fun day was put on for the participants and Ford staff.  One of the highlights of this was a fly-past by a World War II Hurricane aeroplane. Below are some photographs and video of the event. Maun Motors had two Ford Transit T350 EL Jumbo panel vans driving in this historic event, and offered these two vehicles for sale shortly afterwards. However, please note that both of these vehicles have now been sold from our Commercial Vehicle Sales depot at Huthwaite, near Sutton-In-Ashfield and Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.
